Abjudicatio (ab-joo-di-kay-shee-oh), n. [Law Latin] The act of taking away something from a person by a decision made by a judge.

One example of abjudicatio is when a court orders a person to forfeit their property as a punishment for a crime they committed. Another example is when a judge decides to award custody of a child to one parent and take it away from the other parent.

These examples illustrate the definition of abjudicatio because in both cases, a person is being deprived of something (property or custody of a child) by a decision made by a judge. The judge's decision is final and legally binding, and the person who loses their property or custody rights has no choice but to comply with the court's order.
