Adoptee

An adoptee is a person who has legally become the child of one or two parents who are not their biological parents.

1. Sarah was adopted by her parents when she was just a baby. She has always known that she was adopted and is grateful for the love and support her parents have given her.

2. John's parents were unable to take care of him, so he was adopted by his aunt and uncle. They have provided him with a stable and loving home.

These examples illustrate the definition of an adoptee. In both cases, the individuals have become the legal children of nonbiological parents through the process of adoption. Adoptees may have different experiences and feelings about their adoption, but they share the commonality of being raised by parents who are not their biological parents.
