The Advanced Television Enhancement Forum (ATVEF) is a group of people who work together to create rules for HTML-based enhanced television. This group includes representatives from broadcast and cable networks, consumer electronics and personal-computer industries, and television-transport companies.

ATVEF creates standards for how enhanced television should work. Enhanced television is when you watch TV and can interact with what you see on the screen. For example, you might be able to click on a character in a show and learn more about them or buy something you see on the screen.

ATVEF's standards help make sure that enhanced television works the same way no matter what device you use to watch it. This means that if you watch enhanced TV on your computer or your TV, it will work the same way.
