An agreed statement is a document signed by both parties in a lawsuit or appeal that outlines certain facts that both parties agree on. This document is then used in court to establish those facts as true and undisputed.

Agreed statements are only used when the only remaining issue in the case is a legal argument, not a dispute over the facts. For example, if both parties agree that a car accident occurred, but disagree on who was at fault, they would not use an agreed statement.

Here is an example:

Two neighbors are in a dispute over a property line. They both agree on the location of the property line, but disagree on who owns a certain tree that is close to the line. They could use an agreed statement to establish the location of the property line, but would still need to argue over the ownership of the tree.
