Automatic disclosure is the act of revealing information without being asked to do so. This can happen in two ways:

2. When parties in a legal case are required to share information with each other without being asked.

For example, if someone confesses to a crime they committed, this is considered an automatic disclosure. In a legal case, parties may be required to automatically disclose certain information to each other, such as the names of witnesses and relevant documents, without being asked to do so.

Another example of automatic disclosure is when a patent application is filed. The application must include a detailed explanation of the invention, which is automatically disclosed to the public.
