A blind tiger is a place where alcohol is sold illegally. This term was commonly used during the Prohibition Era in the United States when alcohol was illegal. The name comes from the practice of disguising bars as establishments exhibiting some sort of animal display to evade the Prohibition laws. It was also known as a "speakeasy".

For example, in Louisiana, a blind tiger is defined as "any place in those subdivisions of the state in which the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited where such beverages are kept for sale, barter, or exchange or habitual giving away, whether in connection with a business conducted at the place or not" (Section 711 of its revised statutes). In Georgia, a blind tiger is defined as a place "where spirituous, malt, or intoxicating liquors are sold in violation of law."

These examples illustrate how blind tiger is a term used in state statutes and case law to refer to places where alcohol is sold illegally. It was a common practice during the Prohibition Era and was used to evade the laws that prohibited the sale of alcohol.
