A checkpoint search is a type of search where police officers set up roadblocks and stop motorists to ascertain whether the drivers are intoxicated. This type of search can be conducted anywhere on a military installation.

For example, during holidays or special events, police officers may set up roadblocks to check for drunk drivers. They may ask drivers to perform sobriety tests or breathalyzer tests to determine if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This type of search is legal as long as it is conducted in a reasonable manner and does not violate the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution.
