Definition of courtroom privilege
Courtroom privilege is a legal right or immunity granted to a person or class of persons that exempts them from a duty or liability. It allows someone to do or not do something without facing legal consequences. There are different types of privileges, including:
- Judicial privilege: protects statements made in the course of a judicial proceeding by judges, jurors, parties, witnesses, or advocates.
