De recto de advocatione is a historical legal writ that restored a person's right to choose a priest for a church position when that right had been taken away. It was abolished by a law called St. 3 & 4 Will. 4, ch. 27.
For example, if a person had the right to choose a priest for a church but someone else interfered and took that right away, the person could use the de recto de advocatione writ to get their right back. This writ was used in England during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
