DEAFFOREST

Deafforest means the same thing as disafforest.

When a piece of land is afforested, it means that trees are planted on it. Disafforesting or deafforesting means to remove the trees from that land.

Example 1: The government decided to deafforest the national park to make way for a new highway.

Example 2: The landowner was fined for deafforesting the protected forest without permission.

Both examples illustrate the definition of deafforest, which is the act of removing trees from a piece of land that was previously afforested.
