Donec (doh-nek) is a Latin term that was used in old conveyances. It means "as long as," "while," "until," or "within a certain time."

• "The tenant may use the property donec the lease expires."
• "The seller has the right to possession donec the purchase price is paid in full."

These examples illustrate how donec is used to indicate a specific period of time during which something is allowed or expected to happen.
