Definition of dooced
Definition: Dooced is a term used to describe losing your job because of something you wrote on your personal blog, journal, or other website. The term was coined in 2002 by Heather Armstrong, who was fired after writing about her work colleagues on her blog, dooce.com. However, it's not just limited to writing - posting inappropriate photos or videos can also lead to being dooced.
Example: Ellen Simonetti, a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, was dooced in 2004 when her managers found inappropriate photos of her in her uniform on her website.
This example illustrates how posting inappropriate content on a personal website can lead to losing your job. Even if the content is not related to your job, it can still reflect poorly on your employer and lead to consequences.
