Entry is the act of going in. In legal terms, it can refer to:

• Administrative law and procedure: Entry is a ministerial act of recording a statement of final decision reached by the court or quasi court before it. For example, in the case of City of Lake Charles v. Lake Charles Fire Fight, entry refers to the recording of a court's decision.
• Finance law: Entry refers to a record of a financial transaction documented in the appropriate accounting ledger. For instance, when a company records a sale in their accounting system, it is considered an entry.

Both examples illustrate the definition of entry as an act of recording or documenting something. In the first example, the court records its decision as an entry. In the second example, a financial transaction is recorded as an entry in the accounting ledger.
