Definition: Forbannitus was a person who was either a pirate or an outlaw. They were also known as forisbanitus. In the past, if someone was found guilty of a crime, they could be banished from their community. This meant they were no longer allowed to live there and had to leave. These people were also called forbannitus.
Examples: In the past, if someone was caught stealing or committing a crime, they could be banished from their village or town. They would then become a forbannitus and would have to leave their home and live somewhere else. Pirates were also considered forbannitus because they were outlaws who stole from ships and other people. These examples show how forbannitus were people who were banished or considered outlaws.
