IN PAPER

IN PAPER refers to a legal proceeding that is still within the jurisdiction of the trial court, before the record is prepared for an appeal. It means that the case is still being heard in the lower court and has not yet been appealed to a higher court.

For example, if a person is charged with a crime and the trial is still ongoing, the case is said to be IN PAPER. The proceedings are still being heard in the trial court and no appeal has been made yet.

Another example is a civil lawsuit where the parties are still presenting their evidence and arguments in the trial court. The case is still IN PAPER until a final judgment is made.
