Interracial marriage is when two people of different races get married. In the past, some places made it illegal for people of different races to get married. This was called miscegenation. However, in 1967, the U.S. Supreme Court said that these laws were unconstitutional. This means that it is now legal for people of different races to get married in all states.

For example, if a Black person and a White person get married, that is an interracial marriage. It could also be between a Hispanic person and an Asian person, or any other combination of races.

Interracial marriage is important because it shows that love and commitment can exist between people of different races. It helps to break down barriers and promote understanding between different cultures.
