Latro

A latro is a type of criminal in ancient Rome. They were robbers or brigands who would steal from people.

One example of a latro is the famous outlaw, Spartacus. He led a group of rebels who robbed and attacked Roman soldiers. Another example is the bandit, Bulla Felix, who terrorized travelers on the Appian Way.

These examples show how latrones were a serious problem in ancient Rome. They would often target travelers and merchants, making it difficult for people to travel safely. The Roman government had to take strong measures to try and stop them.
