A legal man, also known as a legalis homo, is a person who has full legal capacity and rights. This means that they have not been deprived of any rights in court due to outlawry, excommunication, or infamy. A legalis homo was considered to be "right in court" and was able to serve as a juror and swear an oath.

For example, if someone is convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison, they may lose some of their legal rights while incarcerated. However, once they have served their sentence and are released, they regain their status as a legal man and have full legal capacity and rights again.

Another example would be a person who has never been convicted of a crime or faced any legal consequences. They would be considered a legal man and have all the rights and privileges that come with that status.
