Definition of logrolling
Definition: Logrolling is the practice of exchanging political favors, especially among legislators, to gain support for measures that benefit each other's constituency. It can also refer to the practice of including multiple propositions in one measure or proposed constitutional amendment to ensure their passage, even if they would not have passed separately.
Examples:
- Two legislators agree to vote for each other's bills, even if they do not fully support them, in order to gain support for their own bills.
- A proposed constitutional amendment includes multiple unrelated provisions, such as a tax increase and a change to education funding, in order to ensure their passage.
These examples illustrate how logrolling can be used to gain support for measures that may not have enough support on their own. It can also be used to pass multiple measures at once, even if they are unrelated, by combining them into one proposal.

Simple Definition
Logrolling is when politicians trade favors with each other to get support for things that will help their own area. It's like saying "I'll help you if you help me." Sometimes, politicians will also put a bunch of different ideas into one law or change to try to get it passed, even if some of those ideas wouldn't have passed on their own. This is not always allowed, though, and some rules say that laws can only be about one thing at a time.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
