Most-favored-nation treatment is a policy that automatically grants any intellectual-property protection, advantage, favor, privilege, or immunity that is extended to nationals of any member country to the nationals of all member countries. This policy is incorporated into the TRIPs Agreement.

For example, if Country A grants a patent to a company from Country B, then Country A must also grant the same patent to companies from all other member countries.
