Non-contiguous

Non-contiguous refers to two or more pieces of land that are not connected to each other.

• A farmer owns a plot of land on one side of the highway and another plot of land on the other side of the highway. These two plots of land are non-contiguous.
• A real estate developer owns a piece of land in the city and another piece of land in the suburbs. These two pieces of land are non-contiguous.

These examples illustrate the definition of non-contiguous because they both involve two pieces of land that are not connected to each other. In the first example, the two plots of land are separated by a highway, while in the second example, they are located in different areas. In both cases, the pieces of land are not adjacent to each other.
