Definition: Nonintervention is a principle in international law that states that a country should not interfere in the internal affairs of another country. This means that a country should not get involved in the political, economic, or social issues of another country.

For example, if Country A is having a civil war, Country B should not send troops or weapons to support one side or the other. This is because it would be seen as interfering in the internal affairs of Country A.

The principle of nonintervention is also enshrined in the United Nations Charter, which states that the UN should not intervene in matters that are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state.

Another example of nonintervention is when a country decides not to impose economic sanctions on another country, even if it disagrees with the policies of that country. This is because imposing economic sanctions could be seen as interfering in the internal affairs of the other country.
