Originator
An originator is the person or entity that starts a transfer of funds according to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Article 4A.
UCC § 4A-104(c) defines the originator as the entity that initiates a funds transfersubject to UCC article 4A.
1. A company that sends money to its employees' bank accounts is the originator of the funds transfer.
2. A person who sets up a recurring payment to their landlord is the originator of the funds transfer.
