The Pacific Reporter is a collection of lawbooks that are part of West's National Reporter System. It includes all officially published appellate decisions from 15 states in the western United States, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The Pacific Reporter has been published since 1883 and is currently in its third series.

For example, if a court case in California goes to the appellate level and a decision is made, that decision will be included in the Pacific Reporter for others to reference in the future. This allows lawyers, judges, and legal scholars to stay up-to-date on legal precedents and decisions in the western United States.
