Personal justice is when two parties in a dispute seek a fair and just resolution, regardless of any larger principles that might be involved. It is also known as justice in personam.

For example, if two people have a disagreement over a contract, they may seek personal justice by going to court to have a judge decide who is right and who is wrong. The judge will listen to both sides and make a decision based on the evidence presented.

Another example of personal justice is when two neighbors have a dispute over property boundaries. They may seek a resolution through mediation or arbitration to come to a fair and just agreement.

Personal justice is important because it allows individuals to seek a resolution to their disputes in a fair and impartial manner.
