Definition: Recto de rationabili parte is a legal term that refers to a writ that allowed one coparcener or blood relative who owned land in fee simple to obtain a rightful share from the other. It means "of right of reasonable part" in Law Latin. This writ was abolished by St. 3 & 4 Will. 4, ch. 27.

Example: If two siblings inherit a piece of land from their parents, and one of them wants to sell their share, the other sibling has the right to buy it at a reasonable price. This right is known as recto de rationabili parte.
