Redemptio operis is a legal contract in which a worker agrees to perform labor or services for a specified price.
For example, if a carpenter agrees to build a house for a fixed amount of money, it is a redemptio operis contract. The carpenter is obligated to complete the work, and the employer is obligated to pay the agreed-upon price.
This type of contract is different from locatio operarum, where a worker is hired for a specific period of time, and the employer pays them a wage for their services.
