Repetitum Namium

Repetitum Namium is a legal term that refers to a second or repeated distress. It is also known as Withernam.

For example, if a landlord seizes a tenant's property to recover unpaid rent and the tenant pays the rent, but the landlord seizes the property again, it is considered a repetitum namium. Another example is when a creditor seizes a debtor's property to recover a debt, but the debtor pays the debt, and the creditor seizes the property again, it is also a repetitum namium.

These examples illustrate how the term refers to a repeated or reciprocal distress, where the same property is seized twice for the same reason.
