Definition: Representation refers to the act of standing in for someone or something, or the right to do so.

Example 1: In a court case, a lawyer represents their client by speaking on their behalf and presenting evidence to support their case.

Example 2: The right of representation allows heirs of a deceased person to inherit their share of an estate if the original heir has also passed away.
