Definition: Resisting process is when someone interferes with the lawful service or execution of a writ, warrant, or other process. This is also known as obstruction of process. It is considered a crime in most jurisdictions.

• If a police officer is trying to arrest someone and that person physically fights back, they are resisting process.
• If a person refuses to comply with a court order, such as paying child support, they are obstructing the process.
