Definition of semi-skilled work
Semi-skilled work refers to work that requires some level of training or experience, but not a high degree of specialized knowledge or skill. This type of work may involve tasks such as inspecting items or machinery for irregularities, or guarding property or people against loss or injury.
For example, a security guard who monitors a building and ensures the safety of its occupants is performing semi-skilled work. Another example is a factory worker who operates machinery after receiving some training, but does not require extensive technical knowledge.
Semi-skilled work is different from unskilled work, which requires little or no training or experience, and skilled work, which involves a high degree of specialized knowledge or skill.
