Definition: Solicitation is when someone offers money or something of value to another person with the intention of convincing them to commit a crime.

Example 1: John offers to pay his friend $500 to steal a car for him.

Example 2: Sarah asks her coworker to help her cheat on a test by offering to buy them lunch.

Both examples illustrate solicitation because in each case, one person is offering something of value (money or a meal) to another person in exchange for them committing a crime (stealing a car or cheating on a test).
