SUPERDUCTIO

Superductio is a term used in Roman law to describe the act of erasing part of a will or other document and writing over it. This process is known as obliteration. The plural form of superductio is superductiones.

For example, if a person wrote a will and then changed their mind about a specific gift, they may use superductio to erase the gift and write in a new one. Another example could be a contract that needs to be amended, and the parties involved use superductio to make the necessary changes.

These examples illustrate how superductio was used in Roman law to modify legal documents. It allowed for changes to be made without having to rewrite the entire document, which could be time-consuming and costly.
