TERTENANT

Tertenant refers to a person who has actual possession of land or property. It can also refer to a person who has an interest in a judgment debtor's land after the judgment creditor's lien has attached to the land, such as a subsequent purchaser.

• John is the tertenant of the property as he is the one who has actual possession of it.
• After the judgment creditor's lien has attached to the land, the subsequent purchaser becomes the tertenant of the property.
