A voice exemplar is a sample of someone's voice that is used to compare with a recorded voice to see if they are the same person. This is often used in legal cases to identify a suspect or verify a witness's testimony.

For example, if a witness claims to have heard a suspect's voice during a crime, the police may ask the witness to provide a voice exemplar. They would record the witness saying a specific phrase or set of words and then compare it to a recording of the suspect's voice.

Another example is in cases of identity theft. If someone claims that their identity was stolen and used to make fraudulent phone calls, they may be asked to provide a voice exemplar to compare with the recordings of the fraudulent calls.
