Definition: Warectare is an old farming practice where farmers plow their land in the spring and then leave it empty for a year to grow better wheat the next year. Example: A farmer plows his field in the spring and then leaves it empty for a year. The next year, he plants wheat and gets a better crop than if he had planted it right after plowing. This is an example of warectare. The term warectare comes from the Latin word "to let lie fallow." It was a common practice in medieval times when farmers didn't have access to modern fertilizers and needed to let their land rest to replenish nutrients. By leaving the land empty for a year, the soil could recover and produce a better crop the following year.
