A board is a group of people who have the power to manage, supervise, or advise. For example, a board of directors is a group of people who oversee a company's operations and make important decisions. In parliamentary law, a board is a type of deliberative assembly that has more autonomy and authority than a committee.

Board can also refer to daily meals provided to guests at a lodging, such as an inn or boardinghouse. This includes both a place to sleep (the room) and meals (the board).

• The board of directors for the company met to discuss the budget for the upcoming year.
• The school board is responsible for making decisions about the district's policies and programs.
• During my stay at the bed and breakfast, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast as part of my room and board.
