Definition: Curatio is a term from Roman law that means the responsibility of taking care of someone who is young or unable to take care of themselves. It can also refer to the job of a curator. For example, if a child's parents pass away, a family member or guardian may be given curatio over the child's well-being and finances until they are old enough to take care of themselves. Another example is when a person is declared mentally incapacitated, a curator may be appointed to manage their affairs.
