Definition of curative admissibility
Definition: Curative admissibility refers to the rule that allows an inadmissible piece of evidence to be admitted if it is offered to counteract the effect of some similar piece of evidence that should not have been admitted.
For example, if the prosecution presents evidence that the defendant has a criminal record, which is not admissible, the defense may be allowed to present evidence of the defendant's good character to counteract the negative impression created by the prosecution's evidence. This is an example of curative admissibility.
Curative admissibility is one of several types of admissibility in the legal system. Other types include conditional admissibility, limited admissibility, and multiple admissibility. Each type of admissibility has its own rules and requirements that must be followed in order for evidence to be considered admissible in court.
