Definition: Disclaim, in a legal sense, means to give up a legal claim, obligation or right to something. It can also mean to deny responsibility for something.

Example 1: If someone decides to reject their claim to inheritance, they are disclaiming their right to it.

Example 2: A seller who sells second-hand goods may disclaim responsibility for any defects in the product by selling it "as is."
