The House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the United States Congress. It is made up of 435 members who are elected every two years. The number of representatives each state has is based on its population.

For example, California has a larger population than Wyoming, so California has more representatives in the House of Representatives than Wyoming does.

The House of Representatives is responsible for creating and passing laws. They work together with the Senate, which is the upper chamber of Congress, to make decisions that affect the entire country.

Each member of the House of Representatives represents a specific district within their state. They are elected by the people who live in that district.

For example, if you live in California's 12th congressional district, you would vote for the person who will represent that district in the House of Representatives.
