Definition of notice-based quorum
Definition: A notice-based quorum is a type of quorum that is determined by how far in advance the call for the meeting was circulated. The later the call is sent out, the larger the quorum grows.
Examples:
- If a notice for a meeting is sent out a week in advance, the quorum may be set at 50% of the total members.
- If a notice for a meeting is sent out only a day in advance, the quorum may be set at 75% of the total members.
These examples illustrate how the quorum can change based on the notice given for the meeting. If members are given more notice, it is assumed that more of them will be able to attend, so the quorum can be set lower. If less notice is given, it is assumed that fewer members will be able to attend, so the quorum must be set higher to ensure that there is still enough representation to make decisions.

Simple Definition
A notice-based quorum is the minimum number of members required to be present at a meeting in order for it to be legally valid. The number of members needed is determined by how far in advance the meeting notice was circulated. If the notice was sent out later, then a larger number of members will be required to be present.
